The "Don't Block The Box" Downtown Program.

This blog often covers Houston planning and politics. Downtown Houston has just started a new program that will change transportation downtown. Downtown Houston has adopted the “Don’t Block the Box” program in downtown. “Don’t Block the Box” paints an x-pattern in every downtown intersection, along with signs, warning drivers not to block the intersection as traffic backs up. The program was originally created in Austin, TX and has found success. The program starts today and I hope it will be successful for the City of Houston and Downtown.   I am glad that Houston is innovating new ways to make the city run successfully.

  1. That's a great program. It is really needed because it is so frustrating when the intersection is blocked.
