Extending The Woodlands Parkway.

Montgomery County has put a road bond on the ballot for this May. Although most of the proposal has bipartisan support, one proposal is causing controversy and threatens to kill the entire bill. Here are my thoughts on the issue.

The Woodlands Parkway should be extended to Tomball. I live in The Woodlands and close to The Woodlands Parkway. I understand why residents believe this growth will affect the quality of life in The Woodlands. However, I ask that we be willing to look at the bigger picture and how this project will affect areas outside of The Woodlands. The Woodlands and Tomball are two major population centers. They are destined to grow into each other. Not building roads will not prevent these two areas from growing. If we do not anchor the two with a major road connecting the two, the area will continue to grow but it will grow as a spider web of back roads.

The area of Southwest Montgomery County will grow and anchoring a major road to connect the two major population centers will be vital to these areas futures.
