For years, the Houston Post office site downtown has been
one of the most important tracts of land in Downtown Houston but for years it
was used as industrial space for the U.S. Post Office. That is about to change.
Lovett Commercial has bought the Post Office space downtown and plans to build
a development that will include retail, creative office, residential and/or a
boutique hotel.
The site has been on the market since 2009. The downtown site
is one of the few downtown sites which provides access not only to Buffalo
Bayou but also is close to exits for I-45 and I-10. Not to mention the theater
district.
I am very happy this site will finally be developed and also
be used for what looks like an excellent project. Downtown is only getting
better lately and never worse.
Can't wait to see the plans for this area!
